Sally Bond Gillam Room

The Sally Bond Gillam Room is named after Windsor, North Carolina’s legendary doyenne, the town matron much beloved by all residents. Affectionately referred to as “Bum-Bum” by her grandchildren, Sally Bond Gillam is still so famous that Bum-Bum Reunions celebrating the life of this legendary woman still take place in Windsor.

She loved Windsor so much that she built two houses for her grandchilren directly behind The Inn at Gray’s Landing in hopes that they would always live near her. A Windsor traditionalist who only occasionally left her elegant home, Sally Bond Gillam lived in this remarkable house until her death in 1976.

The Sally Bond GIllam Room is a charming Victorian-style guest room with attached bath. Amenities include a period oak bed with up-to-the-ceiling headboard, a tea table with two comfortable chairs, a Victorian marble-top dresser, a writing desk and chair, and a spacious walk-in closet. Located at the back of the house where privacy is at a maximum, the room faces the setting rather than the rising sun, allowing guests to sleep as late as they wish.
